The 6 Days Uganda Gorilla & Wildlife safari takes through Lake Mburo National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Queen Elizabeth National park. It incorporates scenery, wildlife and gorillas. The smallest savannah Park in Uganda – Lake Mburo has the highest concentrations of Impala in the whole of Uganda including Zebras. Bwindi exposes you to populations of critically endangered mountain gorillas while the encounters in Queen Elizabeth rewards you with sights of tree climbing lions, elephants, buffaloes, Nile crocodiles, Hippos and Antelopes. The drive en route exposes you to great scenic views of Ruwenzori Mountains dubbed the mountains of the moon.

Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park & do boat cruise

Transfer after breakfast from your place of stay in Kampala in the company of your guide heading to the south west of Uganda 240km about 3 – 4 hours’ drive to Lake Mburo National Park. You drive out of Kampala before making a stop at Equator crossing – Kayabwe for amazing water experiments that justifies the geographical divide between the northern and southern hemispheres. You will also enjoy great photo shoots at the site. Continue on the drive to Lake Mburo traversing through the farmed country side landscapes including the traditional range lands of Ankole of which Lake Mburo is located. Arrive for relaxation and lunch after which you will embark on the boat cruise on Lake Mburo with its calm waters that give perfect sights of Hippos and Lake shore birds like African fish eagle. Retreat from the activity for dinner & overnight.

Day 2: Do game drive & transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Wake up very early to embark on the morning game drive at 06:00am to have an opportunity to view a range of wildlife including early risers and nocturnal getting back to their hiding places. Wildlife possibilities to encounter include; buffaloes, zebra, impala, water bucks, warthogs, topi among others. The drive through the splendid rolling savannah combretum dotted with acacia tree species adds spice to your experience. Return to the lodge for short relaxation after which you will embark on the transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park 272km from Lake Mburo. You can make a lunch stop at Igongo culture center 33km from Lake Mburo and 12km to Mbarara after which you will continue on the drive to Bwindi (Rushaga) to arrive in the evening for relaxation and overnight.

Day 3: Do gorilla trekking

Wake up for an early breakfast before assembling at the park headquarters Rushaga for briefing about the gorilla trekking activity at 08:00am. The forest of Bwindi dates back from the prehistoric era and is one of the few remaining Afro montane forests in East Africa. Due to its surviving of the last ice age, it has a great bio-diversity concentration including the endangered mountain gorillas. Other great flora will give you company as you traverse the dense thicket famously known as impenetrable forest while wildlife crossings and bird songs will never leave you abandoned in this ancient forest. The trek is a bit strenuous due to rugged terrain that characterizes the area. One hour is availed to you upon encountering of these close to human apes that will leave you with real belief of human evolution theory. Return to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park & do Ishasha game drive

After breakfast, embark on the transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park 309km from Bwindi (Rushaga). You will drive along the eastern jungle of Bwindi after which you approach Ishasha, the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will do a game drive in search of tree climbing lions that can easily be spotted in the sort trees of Ishasha that has gotten advantage over other areas where such unique lions exist. Retire in the evening for relaxation and overnight.

Day 5: Do game drive & Kazinga channel launch cruise

Wake up early enough to depart for a game drive at 06:00am to catch up with early risers and night hunters getting back to their hiding places including Hyenas, owls, side stripped jackals among others. You will drive through the Kasenyi tracks to enjoy the sights of wild game including elephants, lions, buffaloes, antelopes among others though they are not guaranteed. You will return from this 3 – 4 hour activity for relaxation and lunch after which you will gather at Mweya to catch up with the launch cruise on Kazinga Channel at 03:00pm. The 2 hour boat cruise will expose to a range of aquatic animals including Hippos and Nile Crocodiles which is the second largest reptile in the whole world. Wild game drinking on the channel side including elephants, Antelopes and buffaloes and abundant bird life will make your launch trip on the 45m long Kazinga channel memorable. Retire for relaxation and overnight.

Day 6: Do crater area drive & transfer to Kampala

After breakfast, embark on the drive through the crater area where you will enjoy the scenic views of the various crater lakes that shape the area. The area is also liked by baboons, elephants and warthogs which can be seen during the drive. Continue on the journey to Kampala amidst great scenic views of the mountains of the moon – the Ruwenzori Mountains, Fort portal town and Mubende Inselbergs. The journey is 417km about 7 hours’ drive.
